What was the brief?
Zaha Hadid Architects required a promotional brand film to showcase the practice’s unique personality and culture.
The film profiles Zaha Hadid Architects through contributions from leading figures within the practice (including Zaha Hadid herself), and through the prism provided by some of its world famous creations – such as Dongdaemun Design Park in Seoul, the aforementioned Beijing Galaxy, and Hong Kong’s Innovation Tower.
How did we approach the brief?
To capture dramatic original images of these projects, Spectrecom filmmaker Chris Karageorgiou travelled to south-east Asia, before continuing the shoot in London at Zaha Hadid Architects’ offices.
The film shows the exciting mix of youth, vibrancy, experience and intelligence that exists within the practice, and that culture was pivotal in informing Chris’s approach to directing this project: “Perfectionism and precision are key for the team at Zaha Hadid Architects, and they expect the same when you work with them.”
With the Zaha Hadid Architect’s team all extremely busy in the course of their own work, Chris stationed himself at their offices for the duration of post-production, in order to receive and implement feedback as quickly as possible. For Chris, it was a unique experience to get a first-hand feel for the culture that exists within the Zaha Hadid Architects studio.
The film was well received and has been used on Zaha Hadid’s YouTube channel and has amassed over 370,000 views.
