What was the brief?
Paris. The city of both life and love, a hotbed of culture, food and wine that was once described as a “moveable feast” by Ernest Hemingway.
With this in mind, it’s no wonder that University of London wanted to use the city as the key selling point for its brand new student recruitment film for it’s Institute in Paris.
But how to show what living in Paris is like for a student, without over-romanticising it? How to show prospective students what studying at the University of London Institute in Paris is really like?
How did we approach the brief?
We sent our crew across the channel to film for a day with ULIP student Monica. As well as addressing the obvious clichés of Parisian life, be it cycling the banks of the Seine or strolling through the Jardin du Luxemburg, we also wanted to show off the social side of living in Paris. The nightlife, the sports, the university itself.
The result was a film that successfully communicated how the university’s location in the heart of the city allowed its students to truly live out their studies in one of the world’s most beautiful cities.
