Conservation Award Films
Tusk Trust Awards 2019
Tusk Trust is a charity that promotes wildlife conservation efforts across Africa. In partnership with Tusk, we produce an annual series of films that champion the work of individuals and spotlight their invaluable contribution to wildlife protection.
These projects led their film crews to some of the farthest reaches of the African continent in order to capture the conservationists in action. Each film within the series shines a light on the realities facing African wildlife and the pioneers fighting for its survival.
On the challenges the team faced capturing the scale of the issue Film Director, Clemence Bartram, comments: “Making these films pushed me in every way – creatively and physically. It’s not easy to communicate the impact and scale of the work the conservationists are doing in just four minutes. Of all the people in the audience – and that includes my parents – the people I am most anxious to please [with the film content] are the finalists.”
The project saw our film crews travel across Africa, filming in five countries in just 25 days. “One particularly memorable moment from the trip was the morning we jumped in a helicopter to fly over the border of South Africa,” Clemence Bartram says.
