Lucy Thwaite is a Royal Television Society award-winning director with a reputation for creating compelling films with a strong, engaging narrative. She has made programmes for ITV, BBC and Channel 5, as well as numerous short films for charities.
Lucy is imaginative and creative and has a strong eye for detail. She has been praised for her ability to bring out the best in all contributors, from established presenter talent to complete novices and young children.
Lucy’s experience is wide ranging from directing educational films for the Open University to making punchy two to three-minute lifestyle and entertainment features for Lorraine Kelly’s ITV morning show. She also has extensive international experience and has made films in Japan, Mauritius, South Africa and Syria, as well as in Europe. In 2017 she won a Voice of the Listener and Viewer Award for her work as director in Vietnam on the CBeebies documentary series ‘Where in the World?!
